Raining Gumdrops

When Mr. C arrived home yesterday, the kids and I were in the front yard playing (soaking up this beautiful weather). As he got out of his truck he said (with a smile), "How are things in fantasy land? I'm surprised it's not raining gumdrops on our house." Ha, ha...very funny.

Recently, at a family gathering, those in my family tree seemed to share the same sentiments. "Your life has always been perfect", "you're happy about everything", etc., etc.

This got me to thinking...

First of all, I have had my share of trials and tribulations. And, I'm thankful for each and everyone of them. They have helped mold me into the person I am today...and I kind of like that person. Second of all, I'm not happy about everything...remember my rant a few months ago? During the elections and that lovely proposition? I wasn't happy about that. But, as my wise brother said to me at the time, "the sun is shining and I'm happy". I could find plenty of things to be angry or frustrated about...but, what will that accomplish? Nothing.

Yes, my little world is good. I could almost say "perfect". And, my world is happy. But, it's happy because I choose to make it that way. Happiness is simply that. A choice. We have the free agency to make that choice every day. And I choose to be optimistically happy.

Now, I must go. I'm off to a tea party in fairy tale land. And maybe, just maybe, it will rain gumdrops.

You are SO dang cute that I can't handle it!!!!! I agree though with choosing to be happy!! I feel the same way. I could complain about a TON but I chose to just be thankful for all of the wonderful things I DO have and it seems that I keep getting rewarded and blessed.
